Anti-Magic Shell
Level: 6

A visible, sickly green bubble pops into view around the caster for the duration, smothering and dissolving magic within its reach. While the spell holds, any magical constructs and effects within the area of effect are suppressed. Non-corporeal undead and summoned creatures are held fast, unable to interact with the world or be manipulated in any way.

Magical items shut down, sentient items black out, and any magical effect directed at anything in the field is instantly unraveled. The mage may end the shell at any time, but while the shell holds, his own spellcasting is totally and utterly suppressed.

Chain Lightning

The caster unleashes a torrent of lightning, chaining together all of the targets with electric force. The caster has a pool of 10d10 lightning damage, which he may assign as he chooses, in units of whole dice, to the targets.

Any one creature can receive no more than 5d10 damage, and each creature’s damage roll receives the mage’s spell damage bonus. The shock of being electrocuted temporarily blinds the targets, rendering them unable to see anything other than waves of color for 1 round after damage is inflicted.

Decoy

This spell is unique in that it requires neither word nor motion to cast, only a thought. When the spell is cast, the caster is rendered invisible, as per Invisibility, and teleported to a point within range that he can see. Simultaneously, a magical double of the caster with 15% of his maximum hit points is summoned where the caster was, and carries out one command left by the caster at the time of casting to the best of its ability.

When the double runs out of hit points or the duration expires, it turns into a useless log of oak, dressed in an obviously fake and worthless facsimile of the caster’s clothing and gear, with a big smile carved into its face. The double can speak in the caster’s voice, and knows what the caster knows, but it cannot cast spells.

Disaster Cycle

Area of Affect: A cylinder 10 ft. in diameter and 40ft. high, with the base centered on a point within range
Magic Resist: Soak
The mage’s continuing mastery of the basic elements of the world allows him to develop, point, and unleash a swirling mass of storm and nightmares. The area of effect fills with a cacophony of sound, light, and energy, as all four elements lash out at everything caught by the zone. The cycle of elemental power deals 3d4 fire damage, 3d4 lightning damage, 3d4 cold damage, and 3d4 bludgeoning damage. Each of these rolls receives the mage’s spell damage bonus.

The sudden shock of being frozen, electrocuted, lit aflame, and beaten by rocks within seconds of each other dazes and disorients the victims of the cycle, causing them to be unable to make significant progress if they try to escape. On their next turn, they cannot take move actions, and until the end of the mage’s next turn, everything struck by the spell suffers -5% to evade attacks.

Disintegrate
Level: 6

Duration: Instantaneous
Range: 50 ft.
Area of Affect: Up to 30 pounds of non-living matter, forming 1 contiguous object, within range
Magic Resist: Evade
A ray of vile purple light blasts from the mage’s finger, erasing the target object from existence. The target object receives a magic resist roll, based on its owner’s magic resistance. Wolfram objects get +20% to this roll (+10% if the wolfram is alloyed), while adamantine objects automatically succeed. Failure means that the object is utterly destroyed, leaving naught but dust. Items without an owner have a base magic resistance of 10%.

Natural Alliance

The mage cloaks himself in an invisible cloud of sweet-smelling pheromones, identifying himself as an ally to animals and plants alike. For the duration, no natural animal or plant will attack, harass, or do harm to the mage unless specifically provoked during the duration. Any provocations caused before the spell was cast are forgotten, set aside until the duration ends. Any attempt by an animal’s owner to force it to attack the mage will likely result in the animal attacking its owner instead.

Petrify and Soften
Level: 6
Casting Time: 1 round
Duration: 3 rounds
Range: 75 ft.
Area of Affect: 1 creature or stone object each round
Magic Resist: Evade
By the command of the caster’s voice and invocation of power, he may either turn a living, breathing creature into a lifeless statue or a statue into a living, breathing creature. Each round, he may affect one target, and the change is permanent until dispelled or reversed by application of this spell. Should a target that is turned to stone be damaged while in its stone state, the damage will carry through to its fleshy state when the effect is dispelled, and can be healed and restored normally.

Sight Beyond Sight

This spell permits the mage to see the truth in all things, see through illusions and deceptions, and perceive the world around him as it truly is. It is an intense, harrowing experience, and best used sparingly. Sight beyond sight will pierce all forms of invisibility, illusion, and magical deceit. Shapeshifters will be seen as their natural form, and the mage will be able to discern falsehood and intentional lying with a 50% chance of success from analyzing heart rate and breathing. When the spell ends, the mage must rest and refrain from casting spells for two rounds, to recenter himself and recover from the intensity of the experience. Gazing upon the truth of the world around him may have further repercussions, at the host’s discretion.

Spacewarp
Level: 6
Casting Time: 3 rounds
Duration: 5 rounds
Range: 10 miles
Area of Affect: a doorway-sized portal, freestanding in mid-air directly in front of the caster
Magic Resist: N/A
The caster connects two points in space, forming a freestanding two-way portal directly in front of his person. The portal is insulated, and any hostile environments will not bleed through it, but any creature on one side of the portal can step through and emerge at the other location. Up to two creatures can use the portal in a round, one through the front and one through the back. The spell ends gradually, and there is no chance for creatures to be caught in the closing portal. Anything that would be caught in the portal when it closes is shoved through to the opposite side.
