Anyone who finds the lesser antitoxin unpalatable will find this potion vomit-inducing. Brackish and lumpy, this potion tastes of hot, salty garbage with a sting of rotten elderberries. And it works. Upon quaffing this brew, any poisons active in the drinker’s system are neutralized, and any poison damage is immediately halted.

Greater Antitoxin

Unlike its lesser cousins, this potion has no taste or color at all, resembling crisp, clear water. Drinking it down gives no outward sign that it does anything at all, and vials of it have been wasted by thirsty fools too drunk and addled to realize that they were drinking away a lifesaver.

Not only does this potion remove all poisons present in the system, it also heals any damage done to the body by poisons in the last hour, both instant, necrotic poisons and delayed, insinuative poisons. Additionally this potion is able to counteract the effects of taking more than one potion at a time. It will not allow the drinker to take the benefits of the two potions consumed, but it will cure them of the toxicity that results.

Mendicant's Tonic

Unlike other healing potions that work swiftly and sometimes violently, this tonic causes wounds to gradually recede and fill in, with the soft aroma of pine needles and the taste of running water. For the next five rounds after the potion is imbibed, the drinker is healed for 7% of their maximum hit points at the start of each of their turns. Any periodic poison damage that would be taken during this time is delayed, and resumes ticking once the tonic has run its course.

Potion of Amour Nove

Amour Nove was an experienced Alchemist from the last great age, many centuries ago. She could recite every essence found in every herb. She could break down catalysts by simply looking at an object. She had eyes that could see the way the world was built, what held it together, and what moved it. What she could not see, was the true essence of the heart, and the catalyst of love. Destitute and lonely - Amour created the first Love Potion. There are many stories of the results of that potion - She caused the destruction of a small country by seducing their King. She scorned a wife, and was killed by her in a jealous rage. She seduced a man of wealth and power, and he ‘Loved’ her to death one evening, unable to stop.

Who knows what story is the truth, but the recipe was handed down through the ages, tinkered with until it was stable. The Potion of Amour Nove is a Love Potion without rival. Drinking this causes a person to fall in genuine, passionate love with the alchemist that made it, or, whoever put a part of themselves into the potion before consumption. This potion lasts for a month. Often, the falling out after the potion is catastrophic - When a person biologically is no longer in love with a person, AND psychologically falls out of love at the same time, the result can often be heart rending. Beyond that, most begin to suspect they were tampered with, and the recourse is often swift and deadly. Yet, some find true love in such a fashion - they learn to love who they were forced to, finding love in a person perhaps they never considered. It’s rare, and fleeting. For this reason - Amour Nove is illegal in nearly every country.

Potion of Balanced Fortunes

This potion requires a deft hand to create. The potion not only affects the drinker but the state of the world around them. It affects the people that come into contact with them. The potion is nothing so dramatic as a luck potion, but brings the world into complete balance. If the tables were turned in the negative toward the drinker it causes them to find their abilities enhanced, but if they had the advantage, they would find it to slip from their fingers like a limp fish. For the next hour, whenever the drinker is in direct competition with any creature, be it a battle of swords, a battle of wits, or a simple footrace, the drinker uses his competitor’s core statistics, hit, evade, and skill scores instead of his own. The drinker retains his own soak and hit points.

Potion of Charisma

This rose-pink potion fills the drinker with a burst of confidence, the bright floral flavor causing a smile to naturally pull across their lips. The imbiber’s shoulders slide back, they swagger a little more, and people take notice. For 5 minutes after drinking this potion, the drinker receives a +3 bonus to Charisma checks and a +5% bonus to Charm skill. If the drinker does not naturally have Charm skill, this potion grants them the ability to use it at a 20% success rate for the duration.

Potion of Chrono Lock

Rumours of a stone that could brew the Elixir of life ran rampant amongst Alchemists for centuries. The desire to fight death, to prolong life drove many an alchemist to madness, and to depravity. In the end - no such stone was ever discovered. However, what was eventually unearthed lead to a very similar effect. Potion of Chrono Lock is an incredibly difficult, incredibly dangerous potion to brew. Drinking the Potion of Chrono Lock halts the aging process entirely in humanoid species - for 10 years. At the same time, those that have managed to obtain the potion have anecdotally noted that it seems to rejuvenate the already aged, removing years of wear and tear from their bodies, restoring them to a younger time.

The unfortunate draw back, is the Potion of Chrono Lock becomes a needed, addictive potion for the user. 10 years from the date it was taken, the person will begin to age. Rapidly. Those 10 years of aging will snap into place, sagging, deflating and destroying the body of the user. If another option is not administered within that 24 hours, they are left aged far beyond what they would have normally aged.

Potion of Complete Healing

This potion is brand-new life in a bottle. The deeply-colorful yellow-white fluid is vibrant and bright, and always settles into a brighter tone near the center, no matter how harshly it is shaken and mixed. When consumed, the imbiber feels lancing pain searing through every nerve in his body as the potion aggressively scrubs clean every cell, revitalizes every tissue, knits chips and cracks in bones that the drinker hadn’t even realized were there, and restores perfect health and 100% HP. The shock of such rapid healing leaves the drinker dazed and shaking, suffering a -2 penalty to spot checks and -10% to hit for 5 minutes.

Potion of Complete Polymorph

The Master Level Polymorph Potion is incredibly difficult to brew properly. Only the most seasoned of alchemists will even attempt to do so. It allows the complete alteration of a person being. Race, Gender, stature, etc. There are limits to the potion - +3 or -3’ in either direction in size, or +/- 100 lbs in either direction. This potion allows a mage to copy a person as well, completely. Functionally, the change is perfect through and through, Magical detection fails to identify a polymorphed person, nor can it be dispelled. The effects are extremely limited. A dose must be administered every hour, or the potion fails. For this reason - The polymorph potion is a very rare item indeed, as each batch is only one dose.

Potion of Constitution

The deep crimson tones of this thick, curdled mixture remind the drinker far, far too much of blood to be comfortable. The taste is metallic, with a thick note of iron and copper, and soon after drinking, the user will find themselves bursting with health and vitality. For 5 minutes after drinking this elixir, the imbiber receives a +3 bonus to Constitution checks, as well as +10% to their magic and poison resistance rates.

Potion of Dexterity

As this thin, pea green elixir slides down the imbiber’s throat, their body feels lighter, almost as if they are walking on springs. Their aim grows slightly keener, reaction time increases, and for 5 minutes, the drinker receives a +3 bonus to Dexterity checks, +1% to hit and evade, and a +1 bonus to ranged damage.

Potion of Greater Understanding

As this thin potion strikes the drinker’s tongue, she can feel a spark of electricity, the smell of ozone filling her nostrils for several seconds. When the sensation fades, the drinker’s mind floods with new information, a dozen languages flying through her head as understanding dawns. For 10 minutes after drinking this potion, the imbiber can understand any spoken language whose existence is known to the alchemist, and reply in kind. When the duration ends, the information fades from the drinker’s mind and is lost.

Potion of Intelligence

Knocking back this sky blue potion fills the wearer with a sense of worth and self-importance as facts and figures begin flowing through their mind and words spring to tongue that the drinker had never been able to describe before. The imbiber’s eyes glow a faint blue as their vision sharpens and their hearing becomes more sensitive. For 5 minutes, the drinker receives a +3 bonus to Intelligence checks and learns one uncommon language of the alchemist’s choice, for the same duration.. The alchemist must either know the language or have a tome available to copy some key phrases out of.

Potion of Invisiblity

This potion looks clear, but when the vial is grasped in hand, the truth is clear: it is a metallic silver color that perfectly matches glass, but cannot be seen through. Drinking down this liquid causes the drinker’s skin and possessions to shimmer with the same silvery sheen before they vanish into thin air. For 5 minutes afterward, the drinker is totally invisible. They are still audible, and any objects that they pick up and interact with without putting into a pocket or otherwise hiding on their person remain visible. Any damage taken will end the effect, but attacking will not. However, since the drinker cannot see their own weapons or limbs, any attacks will suffer -20% to hit from disorientation.

Potion of Major Healing

Unlike its lesser cousin, the Major Healing potion is slightly sweet, with floral notes and an earthy, almost metallic tone to its bite. It brings no numbness, just a flushed, slightly euphoric rush as the body is revitalized and restored. The drinker is healed for 50% of their maximum HP.

Potion of Nullification

Some people are just no fun. One of those intensely unfun people developed this clear, slightly thick potion, whose aroma and flavor cannot be described as simply odorless, or tasteless. The potion tastes like nothing, smells like nothing. The effect deadens the senses, as if the mouth and nose are numbed, but a few deep breaths quickly clears the sensation. Upon drinking this elixir, any alchemical effects still running in the user’s system immediately end. Note that this potion does not count toward alchemical toxicity, and will remove any lingering side effects of the toxic reaction as well. This drink has one interesting side effect: the user’s urine turns strange and bright colors for a day after using it.

Potion of Stasis

No one knows what this potion tastes like, for when the thin, metallic liquid hits the drinker’s tongue, time stands still for them. For 10 minutes after imbibing this potion, the drinker is removed from time’s flow. They are transfixed in place, and no force or outside influence can cause them to move. If the drinker were seated in a chair, pulling the chair away would cause them to remain seated in mid-air. Any damage that would be dealt to them is ignored, and any attempt to pickpocket or otherwise remove items from their person fails.

Most people with sense, however, will pour the liquid over an item, locking it in its current temporal state. When applied to an item, it does not rust, corrode, decay, or degrade, but can be moved or carried. These effects last for 24 hours per dose. If this potion is applied to a dead body, any time that elapses while the potion is active is ignored for purposes of resurrection.

Potion of Stoneskin

Quaffing this thick, syrupy, almost congealed mess of a potion causes the drinker’s skin to stiffen and harden, becoming the consistency of dried clay or soft rock. This effect causes the first 20 points of physical damage taken by the drinker, after soak, to be totally ignored. While this potion is active, however, the drinker suffers a -3 penalty to their Charisma score due to their slightly horrific appearance… unless, of course, they are dealing with someone who can’t see them or doesn’t find mudmen unattractive.

Potion of Strength

With one sip of this thick, earthy fluid, the drinker finds their muscles bursting from the inside out, rippling with raw power and quite possibly ripping any tight clothing that they may be wearing to shreds. For 5 minutes, the drinker receives a +3 bonus to Strength checks and a +2 bonus to melee damage.

Potion of Wisdom

Essence: Dolor

Deep, forest-green hues shine from inside the vial containing this runny potion. The taste of apricots and sunshine lingers on the tongue for several moments as the world around the drinker comes into sharp focus. Understanding springs to mind as the mysteries of life unfold… for a little while. For 5 minutes after drinking this potion, the user gains a +3 bonus to Wisdom checks, and has a flat 20% chance to discern if any statement told to them is an intentional lie or if anything that they can see is illusory or otherwise unreal.

Tincture of Fluid Flesh

Occasionally, an alchemist gets the guts to meddle with the very basic laws of physics. What is a gas, what is a liquid, and and what is a solid? To an Alchemist, those things are play toys and amusements. Tincture of Fluid Flesh takes a solid humanoid, and grants them the ability to ‘Melt’. Slipping through a crack in the door, or pushing through the metal bars of a prison.

Perhaps being crushed by falling boulders seems like a horrible time - drinking this potion can prevent the inevitable crushing death. The body of the drinker maintains a vaguely solid shape, with perhaps a bit of drooping, until pressure or force is applied to it. After, they squish. The potion lasts for only half an hour, and then the liquid forms. This could be dangerous, should a person have only half their liquid recoverable, or if someone scooped up part of them. Who knows how they’d reform..
